Amends TCA Section 68-1-901; Title 68, Chapter 29 and Title 68, Chapter 3, Part 1.
The Tennessee Medical Laboratory Act generally establishes a system of licensure, registration, and regulation for medical laboratories and persons who act as a medical laboratory director, supervisor, technologist, technician, laboratory trainee or special analyst and accept a specimen for laboratory examination. Present law lists eleven groups of facilities and personnel who are exempt from the Act. This bill adds an exemption for medical laboratory personnel employed by privately owned laboratories, while they are performing work at the medical laboratory.<br /> <br />
