Welcome to LegisGo.io ("LegisGo," "we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using the LegisGo platform, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and LegisGo. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Public Beta and Service Availability

LegisGo is currently operating as a public beta. This means:

  • The Service is provided free of charge during the beta period
  • Features may be incomplete, experimental, or subject to change without notice
  • The Service may experience downtime, bugs, or technical issues
  • We make no guarantees regarding service availability, reliability, or accuracy
  • Features may be added, removed, or modified at our sole discretion
  • User feedback is encouraged and may influence product development

NO WARRANTY: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree that you will NOT:

  • Copy, reproduce, duplicate, or create derivative works of the Service or its content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service using automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.)
  • Redistribute, resell, or commercialize access to the Service without explicit written permission
  • Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, or malicious purposes
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or its underlying systems
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any malicious code to the Service
  • Impersonate another person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users of the Service
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Attempt to bypass any security measures or access controls

Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your account and legal action.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, functionality, code, designs, graphics, logos, and trademarks on the Service are the exclusive property of LegisGo or its licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for your personal or internal business purposes. This license does not include any rights to:

  • Reproduce or duplicate any part of the Service
  • Create derivative works based on the Service
  • Sell, license, or transfer access to the Service
  • Use the Service's branding, design, or functionality in your own products

5. User-Generated Content

Any data, feedback, suggestions, or other content you submit to the Service ("User Content") remains your property. However, by submitting User Content, you grant LegisGo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate such content for purposes of operating, improving, and promoting the Service.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to submit User Content
  • Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights
  • Your User Content does not contain illegal or harmful material

6. Legislative Data and Information Accuracy

LegisGo aggregates publicly available legislative data from official government sources, including but not limited to the Tennessee General Assembly and Nashville Metro Council. While we strive for accuracy:

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of legislative data
  • Legislative information may contain errors, omissions, or delays
  • AI-generated summaries are provided for convenience and may not capture all nuances
  • You should verify critical information with official government sources
  • LegisGo is not a substitute for legal advice or professional counsel

IMPORTANT: Do not rely solely on LegisGo for legal, business, or policy decisions. Always consult official legislative records and qualified professionals.

7. Privacy and Data Collection

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

We collect and process data to:

  • Provide and improve the Service
  • Send alerts and notifications you've requested
  • Analyze usage patterns and optimize performance
  • Communicate updates and product information

8. Transition from Beta to Paid Service

LegisGo is currently free during the public beta period. We reserve the right to:

  • Transition to a paid subscription model at any time
  • Introduce tiered pricing or feature restrictions
  • Discontinue free access with reasonable notice
  • Grandfather certain users into preferential pricing (at our discretion)

Beta users will receive advance notice before any transition to paid plans. You will have the option to continue with a paid subscription or discontinue use of the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • LegisGo and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
  • Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed $100 USD
  • We are not liable for any losses, damages, or harm resulting from reliance on legislative data or AI-generated content
  • We are not responsible for third-party content, links, or services accessed through the Service

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LegisGo and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights
  • Your User Content

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or malicious activity
  • Extended inactivity
  • Discontinuation of the Service

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions regarding intellectual property, limitation of liability, and indemnification will survive termination.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Nashville, Tennessee, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

13. Miscellaneous

Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and LegisGo regarding the Service.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

Beta User Acknowledgment

By using LegisGo during the public beta period, you acknowledge that:

  • The Service is experimental and may contain bugs or errors
  • Features may change or be discontinued without notice
  • You use the Service at your own risk
  • You will not hold LegisGo liable for any issues arising from beta usage
  • Your feedback and suggestions may be used to improve the product
