Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 6.
ON APRIL 15, 2019, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 736, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill to authorize a local education agency (LEA) to: provide career-based experiences to the LEA's high school students; allow the students to participate in any available career-based experiences; and establish partnerships with industry and local businesses to provide career-based experiences to such students.<br /> <br /> This amendment defines "career-based experience" as an opportunity for a student to participate in on-the-job training or a structured educational experience that allows the student to apply the student's knowledge and skills in a work environment and to develop an understanding of workplace expectations.<br /> <br />
