Amends TCA Title 4, Chapter 51; Title 29 and Title 39.
This bill increases the fine amount that the board of directors of the Tennessee education lottery corporation is required to impose on a person licensed under the Tennessee Sports Gaming Act whom the board finds to have accepted wagers from minors or other persons ineligible to place wagers in this state, as follows: (1) For a first offense, increased from $1,000 to $2,000; (2) For a second offense, increased from $2,000 to $5,000; and (3) For a third or subsequent offense, increased from $5,000 to $10,000. This bill also increases the fine amount that the board is required to impose on a person who unlawfully accepts wagers from another person without a license, as follows: (1) For a first offense, increased from $10,000 to $20,000; (2) For a second offense, increased from $15,000 to $30,000; and (3) For a third or subsequent offense, increased from $25,000 to $50,000.
