Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17.
ON APRIL 29, 2021, THE HOUSE SUBSTITUTED SENATE BILL 1047 FOR HOUSE BILL 705, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1047, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 revises the present law provision whereby a local government may prohibit smoking by a distance of up to 50 feet from a hospital's entrance unless the application of a 50-foot limit would place hospital patients in a potentially unsafe condition. This amendment makes this provision mandatory instead of discretionary, and, in accordance with other provisions of this bill, the prohibition will also apply to the use of vapor products.
