Amends TCA Title 66, Chapter 28.
ON MARCH 29, 2021, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 716, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 changes the applicability of the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act. Under present law, the Act applies in counties having a population of more than 75,000 according to the 2010 federal census or any subsequent federal census. This amendment removes the reference to "any subsequent federal census," meaning that a county that is not under the Act now will not come under the Act even if the county's population increases to be more than 75,000 in subsequent years.
