Amends TCA Title 39; Title 40, Chapter 11 and Title 55.
Generally under present law, a magistrate must provide to an alleged victim certain information before imposing, as a condition of a defendant's bail, a global positioning monitoring system that includes an electronic receptor for the victim. In addition to such information, the magistrate must also provide to such victim the name and telephone number of an appropriate person employed by a local law enforcement agency who the victim may call to request immediate assistance if the defendant violates a condition of bond imposed under the present law global positioning monitoring system provision. This bill adds that the magistrate must also provide the victim the uniform emergency number the victim should call if the victim requires emergency assistance.
