This bill makes it a Class A misdemeanor criminal offense for a person to intentionally transfer a firearm to another person when the transferor knows or reasonably should know that the person receiving the firearm is prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm under state or federal law. If the person receiving the firearm is prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm under state or federal law only as a result of the person's age, a firearm is not deemed transferred for purposes of this bill if the transfer is only for the actual period of time in which the firearm is used or possessed under the transferor's supervision and for purposes of firearms instruction, hunting, or sport shooting.
