ON MARCH 21, 2022, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1871, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 adds that a person's immune system resistance to COVID-19 that is acquired naturally as the result of an individual's prior infection with COVID-19 must be verified by a letter from a licensed physician or documentation of a laboratory test showing sufficient antibody levels in order to qualify as natural immunity for purposes of this bill. ON MARCH 31, 2022, THE SENATE SUBSTITUTED HOUSE BILL 1871 FOR SENATE BILL 1982, ADOPTED AMENDMENTS # 2 AND 1, AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1871, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #2 defines "natural immunity" (and revises the required document) as acquired specific immune system response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that is: (A) Acquired naturally as a result of an individual's prior infection with SARS-CoV-2 virus; and (B) Verified by: a letter from a licensed physician; or documentation of a laboratory test showing antibody, memory cell, or T cell immunity. AMENDMENT #1 changes references from "natural immunity" to "acquired immunity".
