HB1929112th GA (Historical)Introduced

Amends TCA Title 7, Chapter 51.

Present law generally prohibits local governments from requiring, as a condition of doing business within the local government's jurisdiction or as a condition of doing business with the local government, that an employer establish a leave policy that deviates from the present state law requirements, such as the four-month leave requirement for adoption, pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing an infant. The limitation on leave policy requirements does not apply if the local government is contracting with the federal government and the federal government's leave requirements differ from the state requirement. The limitation on leave policy requirements also does not apply to local government employees. This bill repeals the present law prohibition against local governments requiring employers to establish leave policies that deviate from the state law requirements as a condition of doing business within the local government's jurisdiction or as a condition of doing business with the local government.
