Amends TCA Title 10, Chapter 7 and Title 38.

Present law generally classifies as confidential and not subject to public inspection video taken by a law enforcement body camera that depicts: (1) Minors, when taken within a school that serves any grades from kindergarten through grade 12; (2) The interior of a licensed health facility; or (3) The interior of a private residence that is not being investigated as a crime scene. Under present law, the classification of video described in (1)-(3) expires July 1, 2022. This bill extends the classification of video described in (1)-(3) to July 1, 2027. ON MARCH 7, 2022, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2061, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 revises present law in regard to the confidentiality of body camera video that depicts minors within a school that serves grades K-12, as described above in the bill summary, to include as confidential such video that depicts in a child care agency, child care program, preschool, or nursery school.
