Amends TCA Title 41, Chapter 11.
Under present law, a county may seek reimbursement for any expense incurred by the county in relation to the charge or charges for which a person was sentenced to a county jail. The county may seek reimbursement for each person who is or was an inmate for no more than $60.00 a day for the expense of maintaining the inmate or the actual daily cost of maintaining the inmate, whichever is less, for the entire time the person was confined in the county jail. This bill adds that a county is entitled to reimbursement from the state for detaining, holding, or housing state parolees at a local jail pending a parole revocation hearing. A county will be entitled to reimbursement at a rate of no more than $60.00 a day for the expense of maintaining the inmate or the actual daily cost of maintaining the inmate, whichever is less, for the entire time the person was confined in the county jail.
