ON MARCH 14, 2022, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND RESET SENATE BILL 2233. AMENDMENT #1 revises this bill to specify that abuse exists when the "subject child", rather than "a person under the age of 18", witnesses abuse of another child in the subject child's immediate family or household or witnesses domestic abuse, of a member of the subject child's immediate family or household. ON APRIL 14, 2022, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #2 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2236, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #2 clarifies that abuse includes a person under 18 years of age witnessing the abuse of another child in the person's immediate family or household or domestic abuse of a member of the person's immediate family or household.
