ON MARCH 28, 2022, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 2288, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill to allow notice of cancellation of a time-share contract to be made by email.<br /> <br /> Under present law, cancelation of a time-share contract may be accomplished by:<br /> <br /> (1) Hand delivering notice of cancellation to the other party within the designated period for voiding the contract; or<br /> <br /> (2) Mailing notice of cancellation by prepaid United States mail, postmarked anytime within the designated period for voiding the contract, to the other party or to the other party's agent for service of process.<br /> <br /> This amendment adds authorization to cancel a time-share contract by sending notice of cancellation via electronic mail, time stamped within the designated period for voiding the contract to the other party.<br /> <br /> This bill as amended will take effect January 1, 2023.<br />
