Amends TCA Title 4, Chapter 48 and Title 49, Chapter 6, Part 10.
This bill requires LEAs and public charter schools to provide age-appropriate and grade-appropriate instruction to public school students on the history of the Holocaust. This bill encourages LEAs and public charter schools to provide the instruction annually on January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, or the most immediately preceding school day. This bill also encourages LEAs and public charter schools to use resources, materials, and programming available from the Tennessee commission on Holocaust education and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to provide students with age-appropriate and grade-appropriate instruction on the history of the Holocaust.
