Amends TCA Title 3, Chapter 6.
This bill prohibits a family member of a member of the general assembly from acting as a lobbyist, being employed as a lobbyist, or being an employer of a lobbyist while the member of the general assembly holds office. This bill defines "family member" to mean an individual's parent, sibling, child, spouse, spouse's parent, or a spouse's child. This bill specifies that its prohibition applies to communicating, directly or indirectly, with an official in the legislative branch, the executive branch, a county government, or a municipal government for the purpose of influencing legislative action or administrative action for compensation.
