ON APRIL 27, 2022, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2491, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 rewrites the bill and creates a waiver for the registration fee for a Class A or Class B motor vehicle upon the renewal of the motor vehicle's registration if the renewal occurs during the period of time beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023. Under present law, Class A is motorcycles and autocycles, and the registration fee is $ 16.75; and Class B is passenger motor vehicles and motor homes, and the registration fee is $23.75.
