Amends TCA Title 4; Title 11, Chapter 4; Title 67; Title 69, Chapter 9 and Title 70.

Present law requires that expenditures from the wildlife resources fund for the purchase of real property be made in the name of the state for the use and benefit of the wildlife resources agency and expenditures made for the purchase of personal property be made in the name of the TWRA. Upon disposal by sale of any such property, both real and personal, proceeds derived from the sale must be deposited in the wildlife resources fund. This bill instead requires that, upon disposal by sale of any such property, both real and personal, proceeds derived from the sale must be deposited in the general fund. This bill also limits to 10 acres the amount of timber that the TWRA may harvest or cause to be harvested from a public hunting area, refuge, or wildlife management area in a two-year period. Prior to harvesting or causing the harvest of timber in an area or refuge, this bill requires the TWRA to submit a written request to the division of forestry for the approval of the location, size, and species of timber to be harvested. This bill prohibits the TWRA from harvesting or causing to be harvested timber in an area or refuge without the approval of the division of forestry.
