Amends TCA Title 50.
Under present law, an employee is disqualified for unemployment benefits if the employee left their job without good cause connected to their work or if the employee was fired for misconduct. This bill specifies that, for purposes of unemployment benefits eligibility: (1) An employee who left their job voluntarily because of a refusal to receive an employer-mandated COVID-19 vaccination, immunization, or injection is considered to have left with good cause; (2) Refusal to receive an employer-mandated COVID-19 vaccination, immunization, or injection is not employee misconduct; and (3) An employee is deemed "unemployed" in any week during which the employee is placed on unpaid leave because the employee refused to receive an employer-mandated vaccination, immunization, or injection for COVID-19.
