Amends TCA Title 4 and Title 50.
This bill creates the "state as a model employer" (SAME) program for individuals with disabilities, with the stated purpose being to ensure that state agencies and departments design and proactively implement best, promising, and emerging policies, practices, and procedures related to the recruitment, hiring, advancement, and retention of qualified individuals with disabilities.<br /> <br /> The commissioner of human resources will administer the SAME program; provide training and technical assistance regarding best, promising, and emerging policies, practices, and procedures; and develop voluntary self-evaluation and other standard forms and templates for the submission and tracking of evaluation reports.<br />
