Amends TCA Title 63 and Title 68.
This bill requires the department of health to do the following: (1) By January 1, 2022, in collaboration with the bureau of TennCare, educate healthcare professionals and public health practitioners concerning risk reduction, assessment, and effective care planning for cognitive impairment and dementia; (2) In partnership with the commission on aging and disability, members of the state Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia advisory council, and the Tennessee Dementia Friendly Communities, continue to incorporate information concerning Alzheimer's disease in its existing relevant public health programs; and (3) Strive to provide uniform, consistent guidance targeting populations at higher risk for developing dementia in its public awareness and educational outreach programs.
