Amends TCA Title 47 and Title 66.

Generally, the Tennessee Self-Service Storage Facility Act establishes requirements for agreements between owners of self-storage facilities and occupants who lease storage space. The Act encompasses subjects such as the property owner's right to enter the property for maintenance and repairs, the property owner's lien on stored property to secure payment, and limits on late payment fees. Present law defines "self-service storage facility" to mean any real property designed and used for the purpose of renting or leasing storage space to occupants who are to have access to such space for the purpose of storing and removing personal property. This bill expands the definition of "self-service storage facility" to include a transportable storage structure or container that is designed and used for the purpose of renting or leasing storage space to occupants who are to have access to the leased space for the purpose of storing and removing personal property.
