Amends TCA Title 10, Chapter 7, Part 5 and Title 67.

Present law generally classifies tax information as confidential and prohibits its release. There are several exceptions to the present law, which allow for the release of particular types of tax information or for the release of tax information to particular persons. Present law specifies that the general prohibition against the release of tax information does not restrict the public disclosure of the name and address of a business owner or operator that appears on the business or occupation license, or application for licensure. This bill adds that the general prohibition against the release of tax information does not restrict the public disclosure of any information on a business or occupation license, or application for licensure, pertaining to whether the owner is a veteran or a member of a minority group based on race, ethnicity, religion, sex, or national origin.
