Amends TCA Title 38.
This bill requires the state to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest of any individual responsible for the shooting of a law enforcement officer in the line of duty. The reward will be in the following amount: (1) $10,000 if the law enforcement officer was injured in the shooting; or (2) $20,000 if the law enforcement officer was killed in the shooting. Payment of the reward will be made from the general fund after receipt by the department of finance and administration of proof of arrest by the appropriate law enforcement agency. This bill is subject to funding being appropriated for it in the general appropriations act.
