Amends TCA Title 4, Chapter 21; Title 5; Title 6; Title 7; Title 13, Chapter 23 and Title 66, Chapter 7.
This bill defines "eligible displaced tenants" to mean persons who are 65 years of age or older or persons who are mentally or physically disabled and who have been displaced as a direct result of being denied requests for housing or housing repairs with affordable housing and services by a local governmental entity. This bill authorizes the Tennessee housing development agency (THDA) to provide eligible displaced tenants with affordable housing and services, which assistance will be in addition to any relief provided under federal regulations concerning displacement of tenants and relocation assistance.
