Amends TCA Title 4; Title 9; Title 37; Title 47; Title 53 and Title 71.
This bill requires the department of human services to promulgate rules relative to: (1) The supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) asset limit. Beginning in calendar year 2022, the rules must increase the asset limit over four years as follows: (A) For calendar year 2022, $3,500 in countable resources, or $4,500 in countable resources if at least one member of the household is age 60 or older, or is disabled; (B) For calendar year 2023, $4,750 in countable resources, or $5,750 in countable resources if at least one member of the household is 60 or older, or is disabled; (C) For calendar year 2024, $6,000 in countable resources, or $7,000 in countable resources if at least one member of the household is age 60 or older, or is disabled; and (D) For calendar year 2025 and subsequent calendar years, no asset limit; (2) The temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) asset limit. Beginning in calendar year of 2022, the rules must increase the asset limit over four years as follows: (A) For calendar year 2022, $3,500; (B) For calendar year 2023, $4,750; (C) For calendar year 2024, $6,000; and (D) For calendar year 2025 and subsequent calendar years, no asset limit; (3) The TANF vehicle limit. Beginning in calendar year 2022, the rules must increase the vehicle limit over four years as follows: (A) For calendar year 2022, $6,000; (B) For calendar year 2023, $7,400; (C) For calendar year 2024, $8,800; and (D) For calendar year 2025 and subsequent calendar years, no vehicle limit.
