Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13; Title 55, Chapter 50, Part 3 and Title 55, Chapter 50, Part 4.

This bill removes the present law requirement that photographs on driver licenses and handgun carry permits must be in color and clarifies that the photographs on such licenses and permits must be a full-face photograph. This bill also removes the present law requirement that driver licenses and handgun carry permits be laminated. Present law prohibits a plastic laminated driver license issued by the department of safety from displaying an applicant's social security number unless the applicant specifically requests in writing that the number be displayed on the license. This bill instead prohibits the department from issuing a driver license that displays an applicant's social security number unless the applicant specifically requests in writing that the number be displayed on the license.
