Amends TCA Title 54 and Title 55, Chapter 8.

Present law generally requires that both the approach for a right turn and a right turn be made as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway. This bill adds an exception to present law by authorizing the driver of a passenger vehicle intending to make a right turn from a state highway onto an intersecting road, highway, or driveway to move onto the paved shoulder of the highway prior to making the turn in order to permit vehicles following the vehicle making the turn to proceed; provided, that sufficient area on the paved shoulder exists to do so safely and the driver does not move onto the shoulder prior to 300 feet from the intersection where the turn is to be made.
