ON APRIL 26, 2021, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1268, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill to require the department of children's services to notify the appropriate court when the department has knowledge that a foster parent from a kinship placement violated a court order by allowing a child to visit the child's parent within 30 calendar days of the department's knowledge of the information. ON APRIL 29, 2021, THE SENATE SUBSTITUTED HOUSE BILL 1268 FOR SENATE BILL 1145, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1, AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1268, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 incorporates the changes made by House Amendment #1 except this amendment requires the department to notify the court within 96 hours (instead of within 30 days) of the department's obtaining knowledge that a foster parent from a kinship placement violated a court order by allowing a child to visit the child's parent.
