Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 16, Part 2.
This bill prohibits an LEA from denying a student the opportunity to try out for an interscholastic athletics team and, if such student makes the team, to participate in the team, based solely on the student being a virtual school student, if: (1) The virtual school student resides in the LEA; (2) Any of the public schools in the LEA are members of an organization that regulates interscholastic athletic competition and has eligibility requirements for virtual school students; and (3) The virtual school student is eligible under the organization's requirements.
