Amends TCA Title 16; Title 18, Chapter 4, Part 2; Title 38 and Title 40, Chapter 6, Part 1.

This bill requires a law enforcement officer, after conducting a search of a motor vehicle, to report in person to a judge of the general sessions court within three days of the motor vehicle search and provide the following information in writing: (1) The basis for the search of the motor vehicle, including whether consent to search was obtained and facts supporting probable cause to search the motor vehicle; (2) The race of the driver of the motor vehicle; (3) The sex of the driver of the motor vehicle; and (4) The age of the driver of the motor vehicle. This bill requires the clerk of the general sessions court to report the data to the administrative office of the courts(AOC) on a monthly basis, and requires the AOC to annually compile the data and report the findings of the previous year to the chair of the judiciary committee of the senate and the chair of the criminal justice committee of the house.
