Amends TCA Title 39 and Title 40.

This bill revises the offenses of aggravated assault and assault against a first responder or nurse to include the use of an article fashioned to make the victim believe it to be a deadly weapon. Under present law, the acts that may constitute the offense aggravated assault or assault against a first responder or nurse include that the assault involved "the use or display of a deadly weapon." This bill revises this deadly weapon provision to also include an assault that involved the use or display of "any article used or fashioned to lead the victim to reasonably believe the article was a deadly weapon."
