Amends TCA Title 4; Title 37; Title 38 and Title 39.
Under this bill, if the department of children's services investigates an individual pursuant to the laws governing juveniles, and closes the case without finding probable cause to believe that a child in the individual's care was dependent and neglected, or that the individual committed a violation of the criminal code, then the department must remove and destroy all records of the investigation within 90 days following the closure of the case. This bill will not apply to records that are relevant to a separate ongoing investigation.
