Amends TCA Title 38, Chapter 7, Part 1 and Title 68, Chapter 3, Part 5.

ON MARCH 30, 2022, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2306, AS AMENDED. AMENDMENT #1 specifies that this bill applies to determinations of death for veterans of the U.S. military; requires that if a service-connected disability was the principal or a major contributory cause of death, then the attending physician, chief medical officer, or medical examiner must include the finding on the medical certification; and adds that this bill's requirements for conducting a review of a veteran's medical records will only apply if an attending physician, chief medical officer, or medical examiner signing the medical certification of the cause of death of a military veteran knows that the deceased person was a United States military veteran and is provided with access to the veteran's medical records.
