Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 14 and Title 8, Chapter 7.

This bill updates the service and experience credit system for assistant district attorneys, which is codified in Tennessee Code Annotated, to reflect the salary scale after annual cost-of-living adjustments. This bill places into the code the scale that has been in effect since July 1, 2021, which ranges from $53,388 for entry level to $139,908 for after 25 years.<br /> <br /> ON MARCH 21, 2022, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2522, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 revises the salary scale for full-time assistant district public defenders that appears in Tennessee Code Annotated, to reflect salary scale that ranges from $53,388 for entry level to $139,908 for after 25 years.<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 27, 2022, THE HOUSE SUBSTITUTED SENATE BILL 2522 FOR HOUSE BILL 2762, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #2, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 2522, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #2 revises, in regard to the present law provision for prior service credits for assistant district attorneys general and public defenders, the approval required from the "executive committee" of the district attorneys general conference or district public defenders conference, as applicable, to the "executive director" of the applicable conference. <br />
