This bill requires a healthcare provider, medical provider in a workers' compensation case, or hospital that provides requester copies of medical records via email or other digital means (instead of in a paper format, for which present law sets the charges) to do so at no cost to the requester. This bill allows a record provider to send electronic copies of medical records that are too large to be sent via digital means via a USB drive; the requester will be responsible for paying for the cost of the USB drive and shipping.
