Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 10.

This bill adds the East Tennessee Constables Association to the list of applicable entities in the following present law provisions: (1) The present law requirement that the Tennessee Constable Association or the Tennessee Constable Council develop and maintain a series of in-service education courses to be offered routinely throughout the year in the various divisions of the state. This bill also makes this provision discretionary instead of mandatory; (2) The present law authority of the Tennessee Constable Association or the Tennessee Constable Council to sponsor the range qualifications of a constable, so that such constable is authorized to carry a firearm; and (3) The present law requirement that the Tennessee Constable Association or the Tennessee Constable Council be notified in the event of the county election or appointment of a constable.
