Amends TCA Title 40.
ON APRIL 20, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 13, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 makes the 180-day forbearance period conditional upon the debtor:<br /> <br /> (1) Having been released from one year or more in prison for a felony. The debtor may be required to provide their release date with a request submitted pursuant to (3);<br /> <br /> (2) Being on a payment or installment plan; and<br /> <br /> (3) Requesting such forbearance from the court clerk.<br /> <br /> This amendment exempts from the 180-day forbearance period any fines, fees, taxes, or costs that have been sent to a collection agency pursuant to present law.<br />
