Amends TCA Title 55, Chapter 21, Part 3.

ON MARCH 16, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 107, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that if the applicant for the designation of need for assistance in the Tennessee Vehicle Title and Registration System (VTRS) database is a conservator, then the conservator must also verify that a court in this state granted, through the issuance of an order, the authority to release health-related information and submit with the application a copy of the conservatorship appointment order or letters of conservatorship or both, with the right granted to the conservator listed in the order or letters, as applicable. Only upon the receipt of the written statement and a copy of the conservatorship appointment order or letters of conservatorship required by a conservator must the department cause the operator’s status to be ordered into the VTRS database.<br /> <br /> ON FEBRUARY 12, 2024, THE HOUSE SUBSTITUTED SENATE BILL 107 FOR HOUSE BILL 257, ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #1 AND #2, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 107, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that if the applicant for the designation of need for assistance in the Tennessee Vehicle Title and Registration System (VTRS) database is a conservator, then the conservator must also verify that a court in this state granted, through the issuance of an order, the authority to release health-related information and submit with the application a copy of the conservatorship appointment order or letters of conservatorship or both, with the right granted to the conservator listed in the order or letters, as applicable.
