Amends TCA Section 7-51-2102.

Present law prohibits a political subdivision of this state from adopting a policy that prohibits, or has the effect of prohibiting, the connection or reconnection of a utility service based upon the type or source of energy to be delivered to an individual customer. However, this provision does not limit the ability of a political subdivision to choose utility services for properties owned by the political subdivision, or to comply with the terms and conditions of a contract between the political subdivision and the Tennessee Valley authority (TVA).<br /> <br /> This bill adds to the current prohibition provision above by additionally prohibiting a political subdivision from adopting a policy that prohibits, or has the effect of prohibiting, based upon the type or source of energy to be delivered to or used by an individual customer, the sale or installation of an appliance utilized for cooking, space heating, water heating, or another end use.<br />
