Amends TCA Title 63.
ON FEBRUARY 27, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #2 AND RESET SENATE BILL 392, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #2 revises present law concerning the establishment of requirements for renewals of certificates and licenses for certain healthcare providers to require the board of medical examiners, the board of osteopathic examination, and the board of examiners in psychology to develop and offer an optional course in maternal mental health and periodically update any curriculum developed pursuant to this provision to account for new research.<br /> <br /> This amendment requires the board of medical examiners and the board of osteopathic examination to accept as credit toward a continuing education requirement, the successful completion of the course described above by a physician who practices in the specialty of pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, or psychiatry.<br /> <br /> This amendment requires the board of examiners in psychology to accept as credit toward a continuing education requirement the successful completion of the course described above by a psychologist designated as a health service provider, psychological examiner, senior psychological examiner, or certified psychological assistant.<br />
