ON MARCH 2, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 894, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 revises this bill to only apply the exemption to a person under the age of 18 who is in the custody of the department of children's services. <br /> <br /> This amendment also changes the effective date of this bill from July 1, 2023, to January 1, 2024. <br />
