ON APRIL 6, 2023, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1081, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill to add to the current list of advisory factors that a court shall consider, but is not bound by, in determining whether to enhance a defendant's sentence whether the defendant committed an assaultive offense, criminal homicide, kidnapping, false imprisonment, robbery, or a sexual offense while engaged in the performance of official duties as a law enforcement officer.<br />
