Amends TCA Title 49, Chapter 6, Part 21 and Title 55, Chapter 4.
ON APRIL 10, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 815, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill to provide that the registration fee for one school bus owned by a person under contract with a local education agency (LEA) for the provision of transportation services is equal to the fee charged for a school bus owned by an LEA. However, this new provision does not prohibit a person under contract with an LEA for the provision of transportation services from registering more than one school bus. For those additional school buses, this amendment provides that the registration fee for each such bus owned by a person under contract with an LEA for the provision of transportation services is the respective fee specified in present law.<br />
