Present law prohibits grants of sick leave from the state sick leave bank for illness of any member of a participant's family. This bill authorizes sick leave to be granted to a member on account of an illness of the member's child.<br /> <br /> This bill makes the same changes to the sick leave banks for employees of public institutions of higher education and LEAs.<br /> <br /> ON MARCH 13, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 533, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 clarifies that sick leave may be granted under this bill to a member on account of an illness of the member's child if the child is a minor child.<br />
