ON MARCH 20, 2023, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 476, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 revises present law to require, instead of authorize, the department of correction to advance or reimburse witness expenses necessary to the prosecution of a criminal case as requested by the district attorney general and approved by the court.<br />
