ON MARCH 30, 2023, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #2 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1557, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #2 adds authorization for Ashland City to change its municipal election day from the first Saturday in December in every odd-numbered year to the first Thursday in August. If the Ashland City council approves this bill, the terms of office of the incumbent mayor and council persons will be extended until their successors are elected and qualified.<br />
