ON MARCH 18, 2024, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 1817, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 deletes the provision in the bill that raises the punishment of a parent or custodian of a child eight years of age or less that commits child endangerment by knowingly exposing such child to or knowingly failing to protect such child from abuse or neglect resulting in physical injury or imminent danger to the child to a Class D felony.<br />
