Amends TCA Title 57.
ON APRIL 9, 2024, THE SENATE ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #2 AND #3 AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1844, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #2 rewrites the bill to, instead, do the following:<br /> <br /> (1) Establish each of the following as a "premier type tourist resort":<br /> <br /> (A) Electric Jane;<br /> <br /> (B) The Bard Room;<br /> <br /> (C) Magnolia Manor and Chapel;<br /> <br /> (D) Timber Rock Lodge;<br /> <br /> (E) Dillenger's The Hideout;<br /> <br /> (F) Piney River Resort;<br /> <br /> (G) Spring Hill Golf Club / Towhee Club;<br /> <br /> (H) Deer Creek Golf Club / Grandy's Bar & Grill;<br /> <br /> (I) Hotel Cleo and Lilou Restaurant;<br /> <br /> (J) Morristown Landing;<br /> <br /> (K) Smoky Mountain Country Club;<br /> <br /> (L) Rockwood Marina & RV Resort;<br /> <br /> (M) McMinnville Country Club / Murdocks's;<br /> <br /> (N) The Arcade Downtown;<br /> <br /> (O) Peabody Union;<br /> <br /> (P) Javi's Restaurant;<br /> <br /> (Q) The Blue Parrot Supper Club;<br /> <br /> (R) Raising Cane's (4th floor South Broadway bar);<br /> <br /> (S) Nashville City Club;<br /> <br /> (T) Newport Speedway and Event Center;<br /> <br /> (U) Briggs Brothers Ranch and Winery;<br /> <br /> (V) Tri Dog Brewery;<br /> <br /> (W) The Timber at Holly Branch;<br /> <br /> (X) Indian Creek Market;<br /> <br /> (Y) The Farm / 8am Golf;<br /> <br /> (Z) The Station Theater; and<br /> <br /> (AA) Stardust Marina;<br /> <br /> (2) Require that "urban park centers" pay an annual privilege tax of $4,000 to be earmarked for and allocated to the alcoholic beverage commission for the purpose of administration and enforcement of the duties, powers, and functions of the commission; and<br /> <br /> (3) Establish Crosstown Memphis as an "urban park center."<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #3 also establishes Southern Turf as a "premier type tourist resort."<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 22, 2024, THE HOUSE SUBSTITUTED SENATE BILL 1844 FOR HOUSE BILL 1937, ADOPTED AMENDMENTS #1 AND #2, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1844, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #1 adds Bolt Farm Treehouse in Marion County as a premier type tourist resort.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #2 adds Southern Turf as a premier type tourist resort.<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 23, 2024, THE HOUSE RECONSIDERED ITS ACTIONS, LIFTED THE TABLING MOTION, ADOPTED AMENDMENT #3, AND PASSED SENATE BILL 1844, AS AMENDED.<br /> <br /> AMENDMENT #3 makes a technical correction.<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 24, 2024, THE SENATE NON-CONCURRED IN HOUSE AMENDMENTS #1, #2, AND #3.<br /> <br /> ON APRIL 24, 2024, THE HOUSE REFUSED TO RECEDE FROM ITS ADOPTION OF AMENDMENTS #1, #2, AND #3.<br />
