Generally, a Class E felony is punishable by a term of imprisonment of not less than one year but not more than six years. EXCEPTION Present law provides that it is an exception to the offense of intentionally or knowingly possessing, manufacturing, transporting, repairing, or selling certain listed items in present law if the person acquiring or possessing a machine gun is in full compliance with the National Firearms Act. This bill adds to this provision that it is also an exception to such offense if the person acquiring or possessing a switch or auto sear device, as described above, is in full compliance with the National Firearms Act.
